It\u2019s fairly simple to make and tastes great.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">(17.3 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">lb asparagus, bottom 3-4 inches peeled.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">3<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cups assorted cheese, grated (2\u00bd cups Swiss, \u00bd cup parmesan)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS honey Dijon mustard<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS extra-virgin olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1-2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp balsamic vinegar, optional<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">Hollandaise sauce, garnish<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nPreheat<\/strong> oven to 400\u00ba F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.<\/p>\n<p>Take both sheets of thawed <strong>puff pastry<\/strong> and place them on lined baking sheet, overlapping them by 1 inch and pressing the seam gently to seal.<\/p>\n<p>Use a paring knife to score a rectangle border 1 inch from the edge of <strong>pastry,<\/strong> then take a fork and pierce the <strong>dough<\/strong> all around the inside of the rectangle. (This allows steam to be released so the center of your <strong>tart<\/strong> doesn\u2019t puff up, while the outside edges do.)<\/p>\n<p>Place baking sheet in oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and lightly puffed up.<\/p>\n<p>Remove from oven and let cool 2-3 minutes, then brush <strong>honey Dijon mustard<\/strong> and <strong>balsamic vinegar<\/strong> onto the center of <strong>puff pastry.<\/strong> Evenly sprinkle assorted <strong>cheeses<\/strong> over the center of <strong>tart.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Take your <strong>asparagus<\/strong> and trim the ends so they fit into the center rectangle of <strong>tart.<\/strong> Lay <strong>asparagus<\/strong> out in a single layer, alternating the direction of the tips with each row, then brush with <strong>olive oil<\/strong> and season generously with <strong>salt<\/strong> and <strong>pepper.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Return baking sheet to oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until <strong>pastry<\/strong> is golden brown and edges are puffed up, and <strong>asparagus <\/strong>is tender.<\/p>\n<p>Remove from oven and let cool 5 minutes, then drizzle with <strong>hollandaise sauce,<\/strong> slice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yield: 4 \u2013 6 servings http:\/\/12tomatoes.com\/rc-elegant-asparagus-tart\/ March 2016: I found this posted on Facebook and it looked wonderful.
