Serve with <a href=\"https:\/\/nowellfamily.org\/cookbook\/2023\/10\/13\/israeli-couscous\/\">Couscous<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS salted butter<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">6<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cloves garlic, finely diced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">lb shrimp &#8212; tails on or off<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">small yellow onion, finely diced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup white wine <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">5<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz jarred sun dried tomato strips in oil, drained<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1\u00bd-1\u00be<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cups heavy cream or half-and-half <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">salt and pepper, to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">3<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cups baby spinach leaves<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u2154<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp dried Italian seasoning or equivalent herbs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS fresh parsley, chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Slurry:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS cornstarch mixed with 1 TBS of water (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nPreheat skillet and oven:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. While the skillet heats, preheat the oven for the boule.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saute shrimp:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Melt 2 TBS <strong>butter<\/strong> and add in the <strong>garlic<\/strong> and fry until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add in the <strong>shrimp<\/strong> and fry 1\u00bd minutes on each side, until just cooked through and pink. Transfer to a bowl; set aside.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saute onion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fry the <strong>onion<\/strong> in the <strong>butter<\/strong> remaining in the skillet until it softens. Pour in the <strong>white wine<\/strong> and reduce by half. Add the <strong>sun dried tomatoes<\/strong> and fry for 1-2 minutes to release their flavors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Heat bread:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Put the <strong>boule<\/strong> in the oven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sauce:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reduce heat to low-medium heat, add the <strong>heavy cream <\/strong>or <strong>half and half<\/strong> and bring to a gentle simmer, while stirring occasionally. Check seasoning and adjust to taste with <strong>salt<\/strong> and <strong>pepper<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Add in the <strong>spinach leaves<\/strong> and allow to wilt in the <strong>sauce,<\/strong> and add in the <strong>Parmesan cheese.<\/strong> Allow <strong>sauce<\/strong> to simmer for a further minute until <strong>cheese<\/strong> melts through the <strong>sauce.<\/strong> (For a thicker <strong>sauce,<\/strong> add the <strong>slurry<\/strong> to the center of the pan, and continue to simmer while quickly stirring the mixture through until the <strong>sauce<\/strong> thickens.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finish:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add the <strong>shrimp<\/strong> back into the pan; sprinkle with the <strong>Italian herbs<\/strong> and <strong>parsley,<\/strong> and stir through.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serve:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Serve over <strong>Couscous, pasta<\/strong>,<strong> rice,<\/strong> <strong>steamed veg <\/strong>or with a nice<strong> boule.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yield: 4 Servings Adapted from: Cafe Delites Fast, simple dinner.
