The sauce was not good. Too much soy, i.e., salty. Lime didn\u2019t help and it was very thick. I\u2019ve made changes below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shrimp: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">4<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS vegetable oil, divided<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">lb shrimp, peeled and deveined<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">salt &amp; freshly ground black pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Vegetables: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">small head broccoli, cut into small florets<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">8<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz sugar snap peas<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">red bell pepper, sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">4<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz mushrooms, sliced (Optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">3<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cloves garlic, minced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS minced ginger<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sauce: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bc<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup soy sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup shrimp or chicken stock<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp sesame oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS lime juice<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS brown sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">pinch red pepper flakes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS cornstarch<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Steam broccoli:<\/strong> Bring about 4 cups of water to a boil and blanch broccoli for 2 minutes. Drain and shock in cold water until cool. Drain.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cook shrimp:<\/strong> in a large skillet over medium heat, heat 2 TBS vegetable oil. Add shrimp and season with salt and pepper. Cook until pink, 3 to 5 minutes, then remove from skillet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cook vegetables: <\/strong>Return skillet to heat and add 2 TBS vegetable oil. Add broccoli, peas, and bell pepper and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and ginger and cook until fragrant, 1 minute more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finish: <\/strong>In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, brown sugar, a pinch of red pepper flakes and cornstarch. Add to skillet and toss to coat. Add shrimp and cook until heated through, 2 minutes.
