It&#8217;s probably worth reducing the sauce ingredients by half. I&#8217;d also add 1\/8 to 1\/4 tsp of cayenne to the marinade. I started with 1\/8, but it could have used more. Depends on your preference. I also doubled the butter from 2 to 4 TBS. It could be increased more. A side of vegetables and some naan bread complete this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the Yogurt Marinade<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2-3<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup plain yogurt<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">4<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cloves garlic, minced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS finely minced ginger<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp garam masala<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp turmeric<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp ground cumin<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1\/8<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">cayenne<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp (or to taste) <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">chili powder<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">salt, to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For the Tomato Gravy<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">yellow onion, diced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">4<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS butter<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">4<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cloves garlic, minced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp finely minced ginger<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp ground cumin<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp garam masala<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp (or to taste) sweet paprika<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup low sodium chicken broth or water<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS tomato paste<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For finishing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00be<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup heavy cream<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nMarinate chicken:<\/strong> In a large mixing bowl, combine <strong>chicken, yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">cayenne, <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">chili powder<\/span>,<\/strong> and <strong>salt;<\/strong> mix to combine and set aside for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saut\u00e9 aromatics:<\/strong> Set a 6-qt Instant Pot to the <strong>SAUT\u00c9<\/strong> <strong>HIGH<\/strong> setting. Add <strong>oil<\/strong> and heat until shimmering. Add in the <strong>onions<\/strong> and cook for 2-4 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add in the <strong>butter;<\/strong> stir in <strong>garlic, ginger, cumin, garam masala,<\/strong> and <strong>sweet paprika;<\/strong> cook for 30 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saut\u00e9 chicken:<\/strong> Add in the <strong>chicken<\/strong> and cook for 2 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Pour in the <strong>chicken broth, diced tomatoes,<\/strong> and <strong>tomato paste.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pressure cook:<\/strong> Seal Instant Pot and set to <strong>MANUAL HIGH<\/strong> pressure for 8 minutes. When complete, do a quick release. Remove the <strong>chicken<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Stir the <strong>heavy cream<\/strong> into the Instant Pot and, using a hand blender, blend the sauce for 30 seconds \u2013 just until <strong>creamy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stir the <strong>chicken<\/strong> back into the <strong>sauce<\/strong> and taste for <strong>salt<\/strong> and seasonings; adjust accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>Serve over <strong>basmati rice<\/strong> or <strong>cauliflower rice,<\/strong> with <strong>broccoli<\/strong> and some <strong>naan.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yield: 3 to 4 Servings adapted from Sam &amp; Meg \/ via Diethood This recipe makes way too much sauce.
