Reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer until the flavors blend, about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seafood:<\/strong> Add the <strong>clams<\/strong> and <strong>mussels<\/strong> to the cooking liquid. Cover and cook until the <strong>clams<\/strong> and <strong>mussels<\/strong> begin to open, about 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add the <strong>calamari, scallops, shrimp<\/strong> and <strong>fish.<\/strong> Simmer gently until the <strong>fish<\/strong> and <strong>shrimp<\/strong> are just cooked through, and the <strong>clams<\/strong> are completely open, stirring gently, about 5 minutes longer (discard any <strong>clams<\/strong> and <strong>mussels<\/strong> that do not open).
