Your choice of vegetables. I usually use broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, carrots, celery and sometimes water chestnuts.<\/p>\n<p>My white sauce was not as white as the original. It is fixed now. \ud83d\ude0a \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cups total:<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">broccoli florets <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">pea pods <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">button mushrooms, sliced or quartered <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">carrots, sliced thin on a diagonal <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">celery, sliced thin on a diagonal <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">sliced water chestnuts <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">chicken, cooked and sliced\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">heaping tsp garlic, minced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">heaping tsp ginger, minced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cups water or stock<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">salt &amp; pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS cornstarch mixed with 1 TBS water for slurry<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">sesame oil to taste (optional)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>Blanch vegetables:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bring 2 cups of stock or water to a boil in a wok or pan.<\/p>\n<p>Add the 2 cups vegetables and chicken and cook for about 1\u00bd minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Reserve some of the vegetable cooking water and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Season with salt and pepper.
