Lean ranch steak is dusted with Italian seasonings, quick-seared, then drizzled with sweet, tangy balsamic glaze. It\u2019s served with a fresh lemony Caesar salad with lots of Parmesan and crunchy croutons, plus a side of buttery garlic-herb potatoes that you\u2019ll steam, then pan-sear for a crispy, golden finish.<\/p>\n<p>Note: Contrary to instructions below, this is served very rare (blue) in Italy.<br \/>Prep: 5 Cook: 20<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">12<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz potatoes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">lemon <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS Italian seasoning <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">10<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz ranch (or sirloin) steak<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz mixed greens <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz Caesar dressing<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp garlic powder<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">3<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS parmesan cheese<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup croutons<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">5<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp balsamic glaze<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">salt &amp; pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">cooking oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">butter<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prep:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wash and dry produce.<\/p>\n<p>Dice <strong>potatoes<\/strong> into \u00bd-inch pieces. Quarter <strong>lemon.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine <strong>potatoes, garlic powder,<\/strong> half the <strong>Italian Seasoning<\/strong> (you\u2019ll use the rest in the next step), <strong>salt,<\/strong> and <strong>pepper.<\/strong> Add 2 TBS <strong>butter<\/strong> and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave until almost tender, 4 minutes (you\u2019ll finish the potatoes in Step 2). Keep covered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sizzle: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pat <strong>steak<\/strong> dry and tenderize with a jacquard. Season with remaining <strong>Italian Seasoning, salt,<\/strong> and <strong>pepper.<\/strong> Drizzle <strong>oil<\/strong> in a hot large pan. Add <strong>steak<\/strong> and cook to desired doneness, 3- to 6-minutes per side. Turn off heat, transfer to a cutting board.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tip: Ranch steak<\/strong> should <strong>NOT<\/strong> be cooked <strong>past medium rare!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wipe out pan.<\/p>\n<p>Carefully remove plastic wrap from bowl with <strong>microwaved potatoes.<\/strong> Add <strong>potatoes<\/strong> to pan used for <strong>steak<\/strong> over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until fork-tender, 1- to 2-minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Toss: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in a second large bowl, toss <strong>mixed greens, dressing, croutons,<\/strong> half the <strong>cheese,<\/strong> a squeeze of <strong>lemon, salt,<\/strong> and <strong>pepper<\/strong> until coated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tip: <\/strong>If you like, crush croutons in the bag with your hands before using.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serve:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thinly slice <strong>steak<\/strong> against the grain.<\/p>\n<p>Drizzle <strong>steak<\/strong> with as much <strong>balsamic glaze<\/strong> as you like and top <strong>salad<\/strong> with remaining\u00a0<strong>cheese.<\/strong> Serve with <strong>potatoes<\/strong> and remaining <strong>lemon wedges.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Garlic-Herb Potatoes &amp; Caesar Salad Yield: 2 Adapted from: Hello Fresh Tagliata is a popular way to serve steak in Italy and a quick, delicious riff on meat and potatoes.
