Next time I&#8217;ll try not to over toast the rolls and maybe cook the fries a few minutes less. I also skipped the dip.<br \/>\nCook: 30 to 40<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">russet potatoes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">10<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz steak strips<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">French rolls<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">onion<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz shredded mozzarella<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">4<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp Better Than Bouillon beef flavor demi-glace concentrate<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u2153<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">oz butter<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">salt &amp; pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nPrep: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Turn the oven on to 450\u00b0F. Let it preheat for at least 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare two baking sheets with foil and <strong>cooking spray.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nRoast the fries:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cut <strong>potatoes<\/strong> into \u00bc&#8221; <strong>fries<\/strong> and pat dry.<\/p>\n<p>Place <strong>fries<\/strong> on one prepared baking sheet and toss with 2 tsp <strong>olive oil<\/strong> and a pinch of <strong>salt<\/strong> and <strong>pepper.<\/strong> Spread into a single layer.<\/p>\n<p>Roast in hot oven until lightly browned, 25-30 minutes, tossing once halfway through.<\/p>\n<p>While the <strong>fries<\/strong> roast, continue recipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nPrepare the ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Halve and peel <strong>onion.<\/strong> Thinly slice.<\/p>\n<p>Pat <strong>steak strips<\/strong> dry. Coarsely chop, then separate pieces. Season all over with a pinch of <strong>salt<\/strong> and <strong>pepper.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nCook the onions and steak strips:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place a large non-stick pan over medium heat and add 1 TBS <strong>olive oil.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Add <strong>onions<\/strong> to hot pan. Stir occasionally until browned, 6-8 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add <strong>steak strips<\/strong>. Stir occasionally until no pink remains and <strong>steak strips<\/strong> reach a minimum internal temperature of 145\u00b0F, 4-6 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Remove from burner. Let the <strong>steak<\/strong> rest for at least 3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nToast rolls and assemble sandwiches:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Halve <strong>rolls,<\/strong> if necessary. Brush cut-sides with 2 tsp <strong>olive oil.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place rolls directly on oven rack, cut side up, in hot oven and bake until lightly toasted, 2-3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Carefully remove it from the oven. Place toasted bottom <strong>rolls,<\/strong> cut side up, on second prepared baking sheet, setting aside top <strong>rolls.<\/strong> Top evenly with <strong>steak strips,<\/strong> then <strong>cheese.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bake in hot oven until <strong>cheese<\/strong> is melted, 2-3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>While sandwiches toast, continue recipe.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nMake dip and finish dish:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Combine <strong>butter<\/strong> and remaining <strong>mushroom seasoning<\/strong> in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave uncovered until <strong>butter<\/strong> is melted, 20-30 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in <strong>demi-glace<\/strong> and \u00bc cup <strong>water.<\/strong> Microwave again uncovered until warm, 30-60 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Carefully remove it from microwave.<\/p>\n<p>Plate dish as pictured, topping bottom <strong>roll<\/strong> with toasted top <strong>roll<\/strong> and serving <strong>dip<\/strong> on the side for <strong>sandwich.<\/strong> Bon app\u00e9tit!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>with caramelized onions and fries Yield: 2 Adapted from: Home Chef I had high hopes for this sandwich and it came out rather good.
