They dry out.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">12<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">whole chicken wings with tip section removed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">&#8211; or-<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">24<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">chicken wing sections<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">\u00bd<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cup honey<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS white wine<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS soy sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">TBS vegetable oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">shallot, minced <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"id-ingredient-name\">&#8211; or-<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">cloves of garlic, minced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">1<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">heaping tsp of ginger, minced<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">tsp five spice powder<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span class=\"quantity\">2<\/span><span class=\"ingredient-name\">scallions (green onions), \u00a0cut to small rings<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preheat<\/strong> oven to 425\u00b0F.<\/p>\n<p>Pour <strong>honey<\/strong> in large microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Add all other <strong>ingredients<\/strong> except <strong>chicken<\/strong> and <strong>scallions<\/strong> to bowl and mix well. Add <strong>chicken wings<\/strong> and turn to coat with <strong>marinade. Marinate<\/strong> for at least thirty minutes, turning occasionally.<\/p>\n<p>Place up to 24 <strong>wing<\/strong> sections on a\u00a0foil-lined or Silpat lined sheet pan and bake for 20 minutes.\u00a0 Reserve the <strong>marinade.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remove pan from oven and flip each <strong>wing<\/strong> over, dipping it in the reserved <strong>marinade.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Return to oven and bake until thoroughly cooked, checking at 20 minutes.\u00a0 Add additional time if temperature in thick sections is not at least 185\u00b0F.<\/p>\n<p>Sprinkle with <strong>scallions,<\/strong> serve.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yield: 24 wing segments Scott Nowell Late 80&#8217;s: Gosh, I&#8217;ve made this and variations a lot.
