Photograph can be seen at the York Historical Society Library in York Village. John Eldridge Frost, in his Nowell Genealogy which is also at the York Historical Society Library, says that the house was built around 1725 and bequeathed to his son Peter in 1740. The house was taken down.

This farm belonged to Rev. Ralph Wheelock's great great grandson.: According to the National Gallery of Art (where the original now hangs), this painting is of a farm built by Captain Ralph Wheelock (1726-1822) in 1765. This Ralph would be Ralph4 (Ephraim3, Eleazar2, Ralph1).

Joseph Buckler enlisted at age 24 on 20 September 1789 at Woolwich, England. He was shown muster in Gosport Company, was promoted to Corporal on 1st Sept 1803.  After serving 23 years, he was discharged on 31 May 1812 with pension. Board of Ordnance Pension Minutes 1803 (TNA ref WO47/2763) - Joseph Buckler an Artillery Pensioner  15 May 1816 requested his pension in advance for the September quarter to enable him to prepare himself for the voyage to Halifax, N.S.
