feel like I have been here before.-- Standing on the side of the road in Granville Centre and watching as an important heritage building is torn to the ground.--- Shaking my head as another piece of our heritage landscape is wiped from the map.--- With my camera in hand I diligently document the structure while there is still an opportunity to get some pictures.--- As I take my shots, I have an odd sense of sadness and frustration mixed with a very unpleasant touch of deja vu.

"Captain Allis was the designer and original builder of the Hadley Chest. Exactly 100 of these chests were made and each bore the name in full, or at least, the initials of the bride. Later, Dea. Samuel Belden was involved in making the chests and "the deacon was married to Mary, the oldest daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Clarke."
