Discharged Dec. 31, 1776. A resident of First Parish, in [crossed out] and of the town, in 1778, 1779, and 1781. Married Hannah Hutchings, March 6, 1786, at Kittery, both residents." Phillip Hubbard's Company, of Coast Guards, in which were many Kittery men, was authorized by the State of Massachusetts, and the men were enlisted in January, 1776, for the year; they were stationed in Kittery and York; on an alarm by the enemy, the officers to obey any militia officer of superior rank, but to command any militia officer of equal or lower rank."
