- Constance Nowell World War II Veteran
Mrs. Constance Ann Nowell of 563 Woburn St., Wilmington died Wednesday evening at Mass. General Hospital. She was 63.
Born in Winchester, the daughter of the late Nellie (Gustin) and the late Jesse C. Lafayette, she lived in Woburn during her younger years and moved to Wilmington 29 years ago.
Mrs. Nowell served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and prior to retirement was em-ployed for 12 years as a clerk at the Woburn Post Office.
She was a member of the East Branch of the Ladies Benevolent Society of the Congregational Church, Wilmington.
Mrs. Nowell is survived by her husband, Edward N. Nowell and two sons, Scott of Nashua and Gary of Wilmington; her daughter-in-law, Gayle Nowell and granddaughter, Samantha Nowell of Nashua; three brothers, Gustin Lafayette of Woburn, Harvey Lafayette of Kingston, N.H. and Jesse Lafayette, Jr. of Epping; three sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Vallance of Jefferson, Me., Mrs. Celia Friend of Kingston, N.H. and Mrs. Joan Fougere of Stoneham.
Funeral services were held at the W.S. Cavanaugh & Son Funeral Home, 374 Main St., Wilmington Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William Murdoch of the Wilmington Congregational Church officiating. Interment took place in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
