He had to return to England as executor of younger brother Thomas of Charfield's will. In 1685, when nearly sevety years old he crossed the ocean to qualify as executor of the will of his younger brother Thomas fo Charfield, who had nominated him to that position in his will, and whom he constituted his residuary legatee. [Footnote] 10. Prerogative Court, Canterbury, Vo. Cann. 128. The will is dated 20 Dec., 1684 and is proved 3 Oct. 1685. Thomas calls himself "yeoman."
