Mr. Robert (Bob) Bunn, 58, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, May 7th, 2008 at Massachusetts General Hospital, with his family at his side. He was the loving husband of Julie E. (O'Leary) Bunn, to whom he was married for more than 30 wonderful years. Bob was born in Winchester, MA on December 29, 1949, the son of Clellan O. and the late Annette I. (Robinson) Bunn.
Raised and educated in Winchester, Bob was a graduate of Winchester High School, Class of 1967. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam and Indochina, receiving the Bronze Service star and a Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Tool Technology in Danvers, MA until his recent illness. Bob was a soccer coach for Salem Youth Soccer, a loyal Boston sports fan, an avid camper, boater, gardener, jokester, rock music enthusiast, caring friend and neighbor, and all around amazing guy.
Bob was a dedicated and devoted family man to his biggest fans, daughters Johanna (Jojo) and Kimberly, son Christopher, and dog Kelsey (deceased). He is also survived by his two brothers, Donald Bunn of Allston and Richard Bunn of Woburn.
His funeral will begin on Tuesday May 13 at 9:15 A.M. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem to be followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M in St James Church, 161 Federal St, Salem. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
