I am not sure whether John Gustin lived here or in one of the other areas of Lyme, CT; however, this is the only one with much online history. The following is from the towns official website:
Old Lyme was set off from Saybrook (across the Connecticut river) on 13 Feb 1665.
From the Old Lyme GenWeb Project:
The date of the first settlement is not known, but in 1678 the inhabitants formed the Lyme First Society (church). Old Lyme was incorporated from Lyme as South Lyme in 1855.
