Just over a year ago Scott and I moved back to Colorado after living in California for eight years. Prior to that we had lived in Colorado for fifteen years, and before that in New Hampshire for twenty years, and we both grew up in Massachusetts. We have family and wonderful friends here in the West, but we have so many ancestors, relatives and friends “back East” that New England remains very dear to our hearts.

Over the years we have traveled quite a bit on vacations and for business. One result of traveling is an appreciation of fine food, so learning to cook well has been a great joy for Scott. He has long wanted to share his recipe collection with our daughters and other relatives and friends.

I was inspired to begin genealogy research by two events in 2008: the birth of our first grandchild and our nephew’s graduation from high school. At the time I thought I could come up with a family history book in a few months, and, well, I am still working on it. A website is much more practical at this point.

For many years Scott has had a website for his software testing business, and I have been a contributor to that site and a few others. A family website is a long-delayed dream of ours.
